Introducing QR Ph: Pay and Deposit Anywhere in the Philippines

December 16, 2025

We're excited to announce QR Ph support in UniFi, giving you instant access to the Philippines' universal QR payment network, whether you're sending money to the Philippines or using UniFi from the Philippines.

Whether you're paying family, covering bills, paying a merchant, or funding your account, QR Ph makes it fast and simple.

Get started

Pay Anyone in the Philippines

Paying in the Philippines just got a lot easier. With QR Ph, you can pay anyone (friends, family, businesses, or merchants) by simply scanning their QR code.

Pay in PHP from any currency

Send PHP directly from your UniFi balance. You enter the amount in pesos, and your recipient gets PHP instantly via InstaPay.

UniFi uses the mid-market exchange rate with no hidden conversion markups or fees, unlike banks or traditional remittance services.

QR Ph in UniFi app

How it works

  1. Tap the QR button in the UniFi app
  2. Scan any QR Ph code (or upload an image)
  3. Confirm the recipient and enter the amount
  4. Done. Payment arrives in seconds

Who you can pay

QR Ph is the Philippines' interoperable payment standard. That means one scan works across:

  • 50+ banks: BDO, BPI, UnionBank, Metrobank, RCBC, Security Bank, and more
  • All major e-wallets: GCash, Maya (PayMaya), ShopeePay, GrabPay, and others
  • 675,000+ merchants: from sari-sari stores to major retailers

No need to ask for account numbers or figure out which bank someone uses. If they have a QR code, you can pay them.

Prefer entering account details manually? That works too.

Works from anywhere

In the US? Pay your family's bills, send to their GCash, or pay Philippine merchants directly. No Philippine bank account needed. Just scan their QR code and send.

In the Philippines? Keep your savings in a stable currency that earns 3% rewards automatically, while still paying anywhere locally with QR Ph. The best of both worlds.

Deposit PHP Directly to Your Account

You can now add funds by depositing PHP from any Philippine bank or e-wallet and have it converted to USD, EUR, or other supported currencies in your UniFi account, with no markup on the exchange rate.

QR Ph deposit in UniFi app

How it works

  1. Open the deposit flow in UniFi
  2. Generate a QR code for your deposit
  3. Open your Philippine banking app (GCash, BDO, BPI, Maya, etc.)
  4. Scan the QR code and send PHP
  5. Your USD balance is credited within minutes

No FX markup

Here's the key: we convert your PHP to USD with no markup. You get the same rate we get, not a marked-up retail rate.

Traditional banks typically add a hidden spread on top of the exchange rate. UniFi doesn't.

This makes QR Ph deposits one of the most cost-effective ways to fund your UniFi account from the Philippines.

Two ways to deposit

  • Dynamic QR: Generate a one-time QR code for a specific amount. Ideal for exact deposits.
  • Static QR: Get a permanent QR code you can save, screenshot, or print. Deposit any amount, anytime.

Why QR Ph?

The Philippines has one of the most advanced real-time payment systems in Southeast Asia. QR Ph, built on InstaPay and PESONet rails, enables real-time interbank transfers across the entire Philippine banking system.

By integrating QR Ph directly into UniFi, we're giving you:

  • Speed: Payments settle in seconds, not days
  • Reach: Access to every bank and e-wallet in the Philippines
  • Simplicity: No account numbers, no routing codes, just scan and pay
  • Value: No markup on PHP to USD conversion for deposits
